My SIL always writes the date (of laying) on eggs from her chickens to ensure she uses the oldest ones first. Every time I see her and she gives me a carton, I can’t help but smile to myself. Doesn’t take much to amuse me!).

Nice shot – I get eggs from a neighbor from time to time and have no idea when they were born
Maybe your neighbour gives them away or uses them very quickly (or maybe she doesn’t get overloaded with eggs every day either).
