Grey Kangaroo

I had a better chance to photograph some kangaroos yesterday as the shade seemed to be in a different position. Normally the kangaroos and wallabies are lying half in the bright sun and half in the shade making a balanced exposure difficult for an amateur photographer like me.

The second photo below is a good shot, in that it shows what an upright kangaroo looks like and how long its tail is in relation to its body etc.  Those back legs which it uses to hop are very powerful and I wouldn’t want to get too close to a full-size Grey Kangaroo.

I think the grey Kangaroos at Melbourne Zoo are the Eastern Grey Kangaroos which are the tallest of the species.

  1. I got a few good shots on Saturday, Lorri.
Some visits to the zoo leave me without much to share, but last Saturday was a good photography day.
